20 Bollywood Actors In Hollywood Movies.- Set 1
Bollywood & the Indian movie industry is massive, but rarely do our movies make it big internationally beyond the South Asian diaspora. Many a times our Bollywood actors venture outside to the most famous movie industry aka Hollywood, to gain wider recognition. Besides well known regulars like Irrfan Khan there are lots of stars who’ve had blink and miss roles in Hollywood movies. Here’s our list of 20 Bollywood actors in Hollywood movies.
1) Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is the latest to get on to the Hollywood bandwagon. She has apparently signed on to play the lead in the new Vin Diesel movie xXx- The Return Of Xander Cage. Fingers crossed for an action packed bonanza.
2) Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan played a small role in the Leonardo DiCaprio & Toby Maguire starrerThe Great Gatsby (2013). Big B with his acting prowess made his presence felt as gangster Meyer Wolfsheim.
3) Nargis Fakhri
Nargis has an action packed sequence in the movie Spy (2015) with Jason Statham which is worth a watch. The movie also stars Jude Law and Melissa McCarthy. Way to go Ms. Fakhri!
4) Ali Fazal
From the guy who played Joy Lobo in 3 Idiots, Ali Fazal has come a long way making a cameo in the sequel to a blockbuster franchisee Fast & Furious 7 (2015) along with Vin Diesel & Paul Walker.
5) Bipasha Basu
Yes, Bipasha acted in a movie called The Lovers (2015) with Josh Hartnett. It’s some kind of a love story and the movie bombed big time. A moment of silence please (for those who watched the movie that is)!
6) Anil Kapoor
Anil Kapoor acted in the Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011). This Hollywood blockbuster was probably the most embarrassing thing to have happened to Anil Kapoor in his entire career. Making it seem like he had a major role in the movie, his screen space lasted for less than 2 minutes! Anil has also acted in Slumdog Millionaire and renowned TV series ’24’.
7) Amrish Puri
The bad man of Bollywood played the bad man in the Harrison Ford starrer Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom (1984) directed by Steven Spielberg. Yes, this is what we call epic stuff!
8) Freida Pinto
Okay, we get it she’s never acted in Bollywood. But she makes us all proud by acting in some kick ass Hollywood movies like The Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) with James Franco. She made her Hollywood debut with Slumdog Millionaire and has also appeared in a Bruno Mars video, playing a stripper!
9) Aishwarya Rai
The former Miss World tried her hand at Hollywood with movies like The Pink Panter 2(2009) with Steve Martin and failed miserably. Maybe she should just stick to making bad movies with us here in Bollywood (PS: watch Jazbaa).
10) Irrfan Khan
The brilliant actor of movies like The Lunchbox, Talvar and Piku is a Hollywood veteran. His last outing being Jurassic World (2015), he has also acted in The Amazing Spider-Man, Life of Pi, New York, I Love You, A Mighty Heart (with Angelina Jolie) and many more. Soon to be seen with Tom Hanks in Inferno based on a Dan Brown book!
